In-Flight Catering
For these jobs, advanced preparation remains the core of the cooking, with aerial food preparers performing much of their work before the flight begins. Still, finishing the cooking in-flight has its limitations – many of them due to the available equipment in the galley. As a result, most consumables served in-flight remain the preparatory purview of the traditional in-flight catering companies. Though they may be called on to supply the fresh ingredients for preparation by a high-flying chef, it’s still from their own kitchens with their own staff that most meals emerge.
It’s up to the people who book the food service order to impart to the caterer information ranging from the passengers desires to any special needs or dietary demands. That Thai chicken salad with peanuts may be verboten for a client with a peanut allergy. In fact, some so-afflicted suffer may have such a high degree of sensitivity that there is a risk in even having peanuts used on meals for others.
Vegan or vegetarian needs require advance notice, as do the dietary concerns of any passenger who is diabetic or required to control their food intake because of a medical condition.
Similarly, the limitations of the galley and length of a trip should also play into the preparation and fulfillment processes. For example, if a jet lacks a way to store foods that require chilling, an order of chicken, egg or tuna salad – whether in sandwiches or as a part of a leafy salad – can provide an opening to food poisoning if the food is going to sit for hours before consumption.
And the basis of a decision on how far into the flight these foods will get served fails to take into account the time of transport to the airport and the time the food sits without refrigeration between delivery to the aircraft and its actual consumption.

Some Budget Options for Catering

If you cannot afford a fully catered event here are some low-cost party ideas. Do not forget to serve beverages and wedding cake if you are getting married. Even the simplest of foods can appear special when presented with flair. In addition, time of year and the corresponding temperatures should be a large factor in menu planning. Generally buffets are cheaper than sit-down meals because the caterer has to provide less waitstaff.
A tea reception is inexpensive and it should be held between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. Tea and coffee is served with a variety of "tea sandwiches" also known as "dainties." The crusts are cut off of these small sandwiches. Tarts, scones, and pastries may be served, as well. Make sure that you add "Tea Reception Following Ceremony" on your wedding invitations.
A salad luncheon reception is wonderful if your wedding is late morning. In addition, this type of meal is cheaper than a sit-down meal or buffet. Offer a wide selection of salads such various pasta salads, potato, rice salads, Chinese salads, coleslaw, fruit salads, gelatins with fruit, and green salads. Provide a few salad dressings, fruits, and breads. Include “Salad Reception Following Ceremony" in your invitation.
Cocktail Reception is a type of reception/event is appropriate between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. or after an evening wedding. Provide light finger foods such as chips and dips, fruit and vegetable platters, cheeses, and crackers. Write "Light Hors d'oeuvres Reception Following Ceremony" on the invitations. If you would like to include more substantial foods that are more filling include meat and cheese trays, shrimp cocktails, oysters, egg rolls, sausages, chicken wings, and tea sandwiches. Include "Hors d'oeuvres Reception Following Ceremony" if you are serving appetizers with meats.

Questions for Your Wedding Caterer
Unless you're a fan of Russian Roulette, make sure you choose a caterer that has plenty of experience dealing with brides, grooms, and all things wedding. Ask your potential catering companies to share client references, testimonials, and thank yous from brides and grooms who were left more than satisfied. Also inquire about difficult situations that the company has encountered and push the caterer to explain how those tough situations resulted in positive outcomes. Resourcefulness is a key characteristic of all good wedding caterers, so make sure your top choice knows how to deal with the stickiest of situations.
You'd be surprised by how many people fail to ask potential caterers about how guests will be served at their wedding. Ask about the server to guest ratio for both plated and buffet dinners, making sure to inquire about the extra costs involved with white glove service. Also find out the company's cleanup policy and per-course timing. You'll want a company that is flexible and willing to serve your appetizers, salads, entrees, and desserts on your schedule. Keep in mind that most caterers have handled more than their fair share of weddings and may have great suggestions as to the timing of specific courses and toasts.
If applicable, find out if your food will be cooked on-site or off-site. Believe it or not, some caterers will conveniently "forget" to disclose the fact that the food will be pre-cooked several hours before your actual event. While this is sometimes a necessity with out-of-the-way locations like the beach or the mountains, make sure you understand the exact order of events to ensure that the food service you think you are paying for is what you'll actually get.
It's also important to ask about backup food options. Should your agreed-upon items not be available on your wedding day, make sure that you're on the same page with your caterer about what your items about replacement food choices. Make sure that you ask your caterer to include a tasting prior to signing any contracts to ensure that you are comfortable with the food that will be served at your event.

Choose the Right Food!
1. Tastings give you an opportunity to try dishes prior to the actual event. They are a great way to spend time with your caterer, sharing your likes and dislikes and discussing other elements of your wedding. Don't be afraid to ask questions. This is your time with your caterer.
2. Plate presentation can be as important as the food. Ask questions about service. Is the dressing included on the salad or served on the side? Will the courses be delivered in succession or at once? How often will the buffet be refreshed?
3. Caterers see tastings as an opportunity to improve their food and presentation by gaining honest feedback from clients. Be sure to share questions, comments and concerns, as well as honest opinions on the food.
4. Most caterers charge for tastings (though this cost may be absorbed into the overall charges for the event). Be sure you understand the charge before you schedule the tasting, so you're not shocked later on.
5. While food is no doubt a big consideration, don't forget to also base your decision on other factors such as the services included and the chemistry between you and the caterer. You will be working together, so it's important that you get along.
6. If a certain caterer isn't the right fit, it's nice to send a short note thanking them for their time and offering feedback. Believe us: the caterer will appreciate your input.

How to Make a Great Christmas Party!
Make the invitations useful on the night
With all the hard work you put into sending out invitations with all the party information your guests should know, you want to make sure your guests bring them on the night. Invitations can double-up as tickets, bar vouchers or a prize draw after dinner.
Keep the food coming
If you’re worried about certain individuals partying a little too hard, too soon, consider reducing a flow of reception drinks and limit this to one reception drink with a few canapés alongside. Sit your guests down to a three course meal so that everyone dines together instead of being able to sneak away to the bar all evening.
Christmas parties at offices, homes and in marquees
Smaller gatherings in the office or home can be more personal by not having to be restricted to a venue’s availability and constraints; especially the ones who like to party till early hours of the morning! This can enhance your personal tastes and style, with options to create and tailor the occasion to your requirements.
Isaac's Catering provides all this for you so you will have a great christmas party and event! They have professional staff that will work hard so you don't have to! Choose Isaac's Catering for all your catering needs for christmas events!

How to Choose the Right Catering Service
What is your catering budget?
Discuss your budget with your caterer and what options are available. Ask yourself, do you prefer a buffet style or a silver-service sit down dinner for your guests? Be clear about your proposed menu, do you have a theme or style at the event that will be reflected in the cuisine? Your budget may or may not determine how flexible your caterer is to meet your needs.
Where does the caterer shop?
Does the caterer use fresh or frozen food for recipes? Is the produce grown locally? Is it organic? Will any of the dishes be pre-made and then frozen until the party/event?
Decorations
Does the potential caterer supply decorations, linens, tables & chairs? Very often there will be a brochure catering services supply with examples of past event and table decorations. It is important to be very clear in what your event needs and what the caterer will be supplying.
Forunately Isaac's Catering provides all your catering needs at all the right prices! Their professional staff works hard to make your event a success, so you don't have to! Choose Isaac Catering for all your catering needs!

How Catering Works
Food is definitely the star in the catering world, but it is only part of the equation. Most catering companies today offer event planning along with their cooking to enhance the overall quality of the event. With the evolution of the catering industry from simply just food, but to full-service event planning the shift towards the overall experience has also changed. Caterers want the whole venue to appeal to all the senses: sight, smell, sound, taste, and touch.
With the right combinations caterers can create an event that really does appeal to all the senses. And yes, the food is an important aspect that can appeal to sight, smell, taste, and possibly touch, but it is not solely responsible for the overall atmosphere of the event. Caterers generally want everything to fit together, from the food and decor, to the glassware that will be used, from flatware to flowers, from table cloths to music, everything should combine to create a unified overall experience.
Isaac's Catering is a company that is a master at creating this overall unified experience for their clients. From flatware to flowers and food to music, they will help you create a unique event that aspires to all the senses and that will have people talking for years! Visit Isaac's Catering and experience all they have to offer!
Reception Menu Planning
1. Seasonality. Foods that are in season are cheaper and a lot easier to find. Seasonal dishes make sense to your guests too: lighter foods during the warm summer months and comfort food during the cooler winter months.
2. Variety. Even if you are simply providing a few options for the menu, you can still make it vary in taste, temperature, texture, and color. With a less focused menu comes the greater ability to increase the variety.
3. Scale. Serving two guests as oppossed to 250 is quite a different task. You have to ask yourself the simple questions such as where is the food going to be stored? What is available in the kitchen and how big is it? Where will the buffet be situated? These simple considerations revolve around the scale of the event and need to be established.
4. Cost. Obviously, the most constraining and important thing to consider is the cost of all the catering food. With professional caterer's you also have to take into account the professional fees, but you also miss out on the food discount with caterer's as well.
5. Time. You also need to factor in the aspects of time into the menu. When will a certain dish be served to the guests? How long will the dish be sitting for it to cool down or heat up? These are simple but important questions that need to be addressed.
Isaac's Catering is your source for professional services for reception menu planning. Their professional staff, experience, and prices are what make them so great! They will be able to work with you and create the perfect reception menu that will fit your tastes and your budget. Check out Isaac's Catering today!

Choosing the Right Wine for Your Event
Cabernet Sauvignon is one of the most popular of the red wine variety. Typically, the longer this wine is able to age, the more aromatic and flavorful the taste becomes. Although, lesser quality cabernet is ready to go right away and can easily satisfy. The grapes used in this wine are called Bordeaux, which has the classic notes of black-currants, cedar, cigar boxes, pencils, mint and dark chocolate.
Merlot was a branch off from the more traditional cabernet sauvignon. Merlot´s popularity is because it is softer, fruiter, and earlier maturing than Cabernet Sauvignon and displays some of the same aromas along with mint, and tobacco.
Pinot Noir is a great selection that has a silky texture and a smooth sensation. Although, a lot of pinot noir is a hit or miss. You will either love it or hate it. A good mature Pinot Noir has complex flavors of strawberries, raspberries, cranberries, violets, all-spice, tobacco and hay. Pinot Noit is also one of those wines that needs to remain cold, as the heat can bake together the flavors and produce a bland wine.
Zinfandel wine is used from grapes that come from California, although the orignal location is still disputed today. Zinfandel offers the feeling of warmth and has a spicy conviction. With many varieties available, from white to a dark pink, try a bottle that is not more than a few years old, as this is the peak of its flavor.
Picking wine can be a tedious task indeed, but with help from Isaac's Catering it can become a breeze. At you next even, allow Isaac's Catering to help you make it a success, and provide you with all the services you will need!

1. Tastings give you the freedom to choose exactly what you want presented on your big day. It's also a great way to spend some time with your caterer top discuss the elements of your wedding. Don't be afraid to ask questions!
2. Plate presentation can be as important as the food itself. Ask the important questions about the service. Is the dressing for the salad on the salad itself or on the side? Are all the courses delivered at once or in succession?
3. Caterers also like to perform tastings with their clients, not only does it help them develop relationship with the bride and groom but it also gives them valuable feedback on their service.

You also want to know how the cake is made, is it from a box or are the ingredients and cake itself made from scratch? Find out what the price per serving is, as the price varies upon size and decorations.
Find out if there is a delivery charge from your caterer for the cake. Usually the set-up charge is included in the price of the cake. Find out who will be setting up the cake and let your caterer know how you want it to be presented. Do your research and find out is there is an extra charge for cake toppers such as columns or pillars. Find out when and where these rented parts need to be returned.
Many shapes and sizes are available to ensure you get the perfect cake from your caterer. A square or round cake can usually be cut more easily and serve more guests. Choose a multi-flavored cake such as marble, lemon, carrot, spice and even cheesecake. Fillings include raspberry, coconut, strawberry, lemon, mocha and white chocolate cream. Icing on the Cake – Most caterers will offer a traditional white icing, butter cream, cream cheese, white chocolate icing, or rolled fondant.
When it comes to decorating the cake your choices are endless. Caterers can decorate cakes with the look of embroidery, lace, appliqué or elegant drapes. How To Cut Your Wedding Catering Bill Cost
Maybe you’ve got the details of the actual wedding ceremony worked out, but what about the reception? One of the major costs of the wedding reception will definitely be the food, so you’ll want to make sure you’ll have enough food for everyone without spending too much money.
Here are some top ways to reduce the costs of catering for your wedding event.
Don’t order more food than you need. While most people want to order an extra plate of this and an extra plate of that (which is typically a good idea) use your discretion so you don't end up with extra food at the end and a higher price tag. Also, ordering many plates of the same food will most of the time allow you to save money, as caterer's are known to give discounts for multiple food orders. The more diverse you make the menu, the more expensive it will be. So keep it classy but simple at your wedding.
A lot of caterer's will actually encourage you to order more food than you will need. If you already have four plates of appetizers, you probably don't need that five-course meal. Also, if you have a decent size wedding cake you can probably hold off on the dessert part of the menu as well.
Pay attention to the types of food you order. Some foods that you order will always be expensive no matter how little you order. Use your intuition and decide if you really need the extra luxuries, especially because you are already ordering so much food. For example, seafood tends to be expensive so instead of using it for a main course order some appetizers that have it included.
Have food stations. Food stations are a unique way to serve guests at a wedding and also ensures that your guests will find exactly what they want. Food stations that offer a variety of pastas and mix-ins are very classy and popular, as well as easy on the wallet.
You may also be able to cut your catering bill by not requesting an elaborate setup for your food stations and tables. Using a single color for tablecloths, usually white, will cut down on labor costs. To add more color to your reception decorations, you may want to add elaborate centerpieces, so that you can spend as much as you need to on the meals for the reception.
Isaac's Catering already has low prices and are willing to work out details to make sure your wedding is a success. Take a look at all their great menu items and you are sure to get the deal of a lifetime!
A Guide to Serving Alcohol at Your Event
Is Alcohol Allowed on the Premises?
It is imperative that you find out if the place you are hosting your event allows you to serve alcohol to your guests. After you find out the answer, you need to look for a caterer that has a liquor license and is legally able to serve alcohol. If not, find out if they contract with an outside company who performs it for them.
Bartenders
Be ready to provide an estimate of how many guests will be attending. With this information the caterer will be able to provide you with a quote on how many bartenders and how many supplies will be needed to service the guests.
There are three different choices when it comes to a bar for an event: cash bar, open bar, or limited bar. A cash bar allows for guests to pay for themselves. An open bar doesn't charge the guests for alcohol but instead forwards the bill to you. A limited bar will set boundaries on what will be served and in what moderation. An example of a limited bar is an event in which beer and wine is offered to the guests at no charge and hard liquor is offered at a pre-determined price.
With Isaac's Catering you will be sure that alcohol being served at your event will be legal and affordable. You will also be supplied with a variety of options that you can choose from that Isaac's Catering will provide for you and your guests. Decide what you would like and enjoy your event!

Make sure to visit more than just one catering company, as you will soon find out some are much better than others and can offer unique menu items you won't find anywhere else.
After all this is done just relax and use your instincts for the final decision. Try to have fun when visiting all the catering companies and it will help you make a great decision.

Corporate Catering Liability
Below is a suggested criteria for qualifying service providers and protecting your corporation from any unnecessary liability challenges:
1. Before a caterer is considered, a Certificate of Liability Insurance and Workman's Compensation should be requested and checked for appropriate coverage. Two million dollars is normally sufficient. Should there be a challenge with all attendees of the meeting becoming ill, it is important to know that your corporation does not get hit for the liability exposure.
2. Has the kitchen generating the food for your event been inspected by the California Health Department and what grade did they receive.
3. Have the persons preparing the foods passed a Food Handler's Certification Course and certified by the State of California.
4. How will the food be delivered and what insures that the temperature of the food will be appropriate arriving at your site? Many caterings are currently being delivered in pick-up trucks.
5. Do you receive a computer driven invoice for your catering previous and at arrival? Handwritten invoices are a warning flag that Sales Tax and Workman's Compensation numbers are not going to be accurate. If the delivery person would happen to injure himself or herself while delivering, there is a strong possibility your corporation would share, if not assume all, the liability.
6. Take an hour and tour the kitchen un-announced. Having been in the food service business the last 35 years, I can assure you that your selection process becomes very easy at this step.
7. Meet those that process your catering orders. A healthy relationship with your caterer will go a long way to getting exactly what you want consistently.
